About Dhruv Pandya, MD
Growing up in Connecticut as the son of immigrant parents, I was taught the value of hard work, compassion, honesty, and achievement. My parents also instilled in me an abiding love for this country. These qualities have carried me through my years of education and service.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University with a double major in Biology and Psychology; medical school at Ross University; and residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at University of Pennsylvania.
I completed a fellowship to receive specialized training in Interventional Spine Treatment in New Jersey. I am now Board Certified in PM&R with Sub-Specialty Board Certification in Pain Management through the AAPM&R and the AAPM.
I put my skills into practice when I settled in Ashland, Kentucky in 2005. I eventually joined KDMC in the Spine and Pain Center and served as Director of their Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit for a time. Though I received great satisfaction in this work – it became harder and harder to ignore the ongoing opioid crisis in our community.
In an effort to do my part, I completed the required training and joined Ashland Integrative Medicine (AIM) in 2015 to offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), hoping to make an impact.
I know that I made the right decision. AIM has been doing fantastic work in this area…utilizing a program that gives every individual the benefit of a comprehensive approach that includes counseling, medication and Case Management. AIM also offers on-site Family Practice and Psychiatry Services. Because AIM offers it services as Billable Services to Insurance, there is no out-of-pocket cost to the patient, except for copays that your insurance requires. That means more people have access to care and that means a Safer and Stronger Community.
